Kimberley Process Certificate (KPC) System

The KPC system has been developed by responsible governments to stop the trafficking of blood diamonds. Every shipment of rough diamonds exported or imported requires an accompanying Kimberley Process  Certificate (KPC) to ensure the diamonds have not come from a conflict area and have been legitimately mined.

These certificates are issued by a Government Department in the exporting country. We only sell to customers who reside in countries that are participating members of the KPC system. However, once a rough stone has been placed in a setting, it is then classed as Jewellery and no KPC  is required.

For Australian customers taking their Kimberley Rough Diamond out of Australia:

• If you decide to take your rough stone to another country to be made into jewellery (in effect re-exporting the diamond), you need to obtain a new KPC to allow its entry into the next country, and that country must be a signatory to the KPC scheme.
• The regulations on acquiring a KPC and Customs clearance is an involved and lengthy task for the average customer, so we strongly recommend having your rough stones, set in Australia.
• Once your stone(s) have been set into jewellery then a KPC is no longer required. However, we advise customers to retain their Certificate(s), in case of any questions from customs officials

For overseas customers from KPC participating countries:

• Kimberley Rough Diamonds on behalf of the Australian Government will issue a new Kimberley Process Certificate. Customs formalities will be completed and the stone and KPC is shipped direct to your home address. Then the same rules apply as above. If you decide to take the stone into another country, you need to apply for a new KPC will be required from your country’s issuing authority.

The bottom line (for all customers):

• Kimberley Rough Diamonds recommends having your stone or stones set into jewellery in Australia. A KPC is no longer required once a stone is made into jewellery.

    Our Refund Policy: Please choose carefully.
    We don’t normally give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision. You can choose between a refund, less postage, or exchange where the service is wrongly described or different from a sample shown to you. Please retain your receipt for proof of purchase.

We do our utmost to ensure a full, honest and accurate description is given, and the accompanying photograph is of the diamond or the gold nugget being described.

As we are selling rough diamonds, we simply cannot describe every imperfection, as none of these diamonds are perfect.

However, should you feel your purchase is not as described or as shown, we will refund the cost of the diamond or nugget, less postage paid, if the diamond is returned within seven days of being received, with the return registered postage paid by yourselves. We take no responsibility if the item is not returned in the above manner.

For Overseas Customers Purchasing Online we can arrange a KPC, Customs Clearance and mail to your home address with Australia Post International Express with Insurance and Tracking. The customer is responsible for any customs or import excise payable on rough diamonds or gold nuggets, entering their country.

Unfortunately we have to charge basic Australia Post charges so cost depends on which Postal Zone parcel is being sent. Please contact us for a shipping quote.
